Description

Shot on Nikon D500, this is by far the most memorable and prized image of my journey as a photography artist. Taken during the Bugaboo Spire Centennial Climb Project expedition and filming of Hobnails and Hemp Rope documentary – shared traditional lands of the Secwepemc, Ktunaxa and Sinixt people. Years of planning went into this one shot and years after I continue to share the story of Conrad Kain and his bold first ascent of Bugaboo Spire. This was out second attempt at the summit with perfect weather conditions and natural light. The landscape was unrivaled for a backdrop. A passing cloud acknowledges our presence in an eerie resemblance of a shadow of the re-enactment climber Garry Reiss.
